You will have the frame to have 1/2 inch of space between the mattress with no one on it and the frame tables. You can use a 1/2 inch plywood sheet from the base of the frame, and you should use sturdy 4-by-4 entrances to make the legs sleep and study loft bed. Try to design the loft so there is enough space under the bed to have a desk and a small store, but not so high that it will be difficult to get in and out of. If you decide to make the plywood into two sections for easy transportation, be sure to put a 2 by 4 table between the two sections as a corset.

Your sleep and study loft bed will need at least one of the longer sides to be open so you can put your desk underneath it, but be sure to put a diagonal support plate on the other long side to strengthen the loft. Always use 2-by-4 boards as support plates. Put support boards along the shorter sides with spacing between them so you can use them as a ladder to get in and out of bed and as a place to hang clothes. Stands placed along one of the long sides and two of the shorter ends of the Palomar should be sufficient to stabilize your loft.
