Welcome to  Tilt!

 

We specialize in poetry. Our mission is to offer opportunities to poets who have not yet published a chapbook or full length collection of work. We cater to the emerging poet while maintaining high standards with regards to the craft.

 

Tilt publishes three chapbooks per year. Our chapbooks are printed on-site in our North Carolina office using high quality cardstock, photo paper, and printing paper. After each initial print run, we will print any chapbook in our catalog on demand. We intend to keep all titles available in our catalog.

What type of poetry does Tilt like?

We admire devout attention to the line, focused metaphors, complexity and simplicity, lyrical but not formal, strangeness, dry humor, the letter y, fresh

turns of phrase, slightly experimental, modern confessional. 

 

What type of poetry does Tilt not like?

We do not like sloppy poems, poems void of sound, prose pretending to

be poetry, greeting card

verse, bleeding heart poems...you know the deal.

 

What do we look for in a chapbook manuscript? Cohesion, progression, belonging, voice.
