Update: 10/08/2008

Thanks to all who submitted their manuscripts to our first open reading period and to those who have supported the press by purchasing a copy of Tilt, Literary Notes. We are so grateful!

Now, on to the big news – we received so many wonderful manuscripts that Tilt has chosen to publish five chapbooks as opposed to our originally slated three. Those five manuscripts are:

a / long / division by Hanna Andrews

Leaf Weather by Shira Dentz

In the Kingdom of My Familiar by Julie Platt

In the Voice of a Minor Saint by Sarah Sloat

Handle This Bludgeon and Run Me Through by Andrew Terhune

Our short short-list (which really means manuscripts we would have published given the ability) consists of the following manuscripts:

Making Love to the Same Man for Fifteen Years by Leah Browning

A Handbook for Those Who Build Levees by Darla Crist

Took by Jesse Crouse

A Knee for a Life by Jennifer Denrow

The Original Word for Rain by Jeanpaul Ferro

Shapes of Hunger by Carrie Meadows

Don’t You Know Anything? by Sarah Sarai

We will keep updating our blog and website with news of forthcoming chapbook release dates, so please stay tuned!

Update: 7/24/2008

What wonderful responses we’ve received since Tilt officially opened this past weekend. Nicole and I are giddy! We have updated our Guidelines page to help clarify our rules. You’ll also notice that we have added a new link called “Links” where we will list fellow small print presses and resource websites.

We should have the final print run complete for Tilt, Literary Notes by the end of the week and we will be mailing out orders the week of July 27th.  Thanks to all who have supported us thus far.

Metaphors be with you.
